The Center for African Studies is one of twelve National Resource Centers on Africa and is funded, in part, under Title VI of the Higher Education Act. The Center directs and coordinates interdisciplinary instruction, research, and outreach related to Africa. The Center offers a Certificate in African Studies at the master's and doctoral levels. Students admitted to the Graduate School are eligible to compete for Title VI Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowships. The Center for African Studies provides direct support for African library acquisitions to meet the instructional and research needs of its faculty and students.
