The Center for Vision, Graphics and Medical Imaging (CVGMI) serves two main purposes: 1) to promote basic and applied research in all aspects of Computer Vision, Vision-Graphics and Medical Image Analysis, 2) to provide a research environment for faculty and graduate students with research interests in the aforementioned areas. Faculty from various Departments are involved in this Center and the Center facilitates their interaction with each other, domestic and international visitors from Universities and industry. The Center director and members have been organizers of several major International Conferences and Workshops in the field of Computer Vision and Medical Image Analysis. CVGMI has been associated in the past with
conferences and workshops for representatives from other Universities, business, the U.S. Government and foreign governments (United Kingdom, France, Mexico and Canada). It has hosted International researchers from Universities (Mexico, CIMAT, INRIA) and Industry (GE, Siemens Research).
