The Florida Water Resources Research Center is partially funded under the provisions of the Water Resources Research Act of 1964 (P.L. 88-379 codified at 42 U.S.C. 10301 et seq.) which authorized establishment of a water resources research and technology institute or center in each state. The core mission of the Florida Water Resources Center is to 1) promote water resources research being performed by Florida’s Universities at both the state and national levels and 2) develop graduate training opportunities through collaboration with state agencies that focus on critical areas of water resources which are targeted to meet Florida’s short- and long-term needs, with the goal of providing solutions that may be applied both nationally and internationally.
