The Center for Systems Integration provides a state-of-the-art center for multidisciplinary research, teaching and training, with a component of service and nucleating beneficial economic activities. The Center's focus is on emerging technologies and applications for real-time and smart phone embedded system modeling, design, development, verification, and integration. The Center is envisioned to provide a collaborative environment that induces individual performance and rewards excellence for both university and industry participants, and to contribute to a research and development infrastructure in South Florida. Our state-of-the-art efforts are evident at four websites: www.csi.fau.edu, http://android.fau.edu/, http://semanticweb.fau.edu/, and http://robotics.fau.edu/. A group of professors and students from various colleges and departments, viz., anthropology, business, digital arts, education, engineering, K-12, mathematics, multimedia, and Urban Planning are working together in the fields of smart phone App development for community needs. This year's goals: Platform independent smart phone apps and semantic web-based knowledge acquisition, as pertinent to the areas of education and health care.
