Mission:	The proposed unit will create the infrastructure needed to 1) recruit outstanding undergraduate and graduate /professional students, postdoctoral trainees, and faculty to FIU, 2) increase interdiciplinary interactions among existing and incoming FIU faculty, 3) expand external funding to study the etiology, mechanisms, and treatment and service delivery of mental health and learning dificulties of children and adolescents, and 4) engage the community by a) providing treatment for children and adolescents with mental health and learning difficulties, such as aggression and conduct problems, anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, behaivor, learning, mood disorders, and b) offering education and support services for families and for professionals who work with children and adolescents in areas regarding health and mental health.
