| Mission |
The Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies provides a research forum for the study of pre-modern cultural history and its influences on the modern world. The mission of the Center is threefold: 1) to enhance the internationalization of the University of Florida through the creation of, collaboration with, and leadership of an International League of Affiliated Centers of Medieval and Early Modern Studies in the United States, Canada, and Europe; 2) to promote and foster interdisciplinary studies and research specifically within the field of Medieval and Early Modern Studies with the goal of placing the University of Florida at the forefront of this field; and 3) to collaborate synergistically with departments, institutes, and other Centers at the University of Florida, thereby facilitating UF's advancement into the top tier of American research universities. |
