Mission | The Land Use and Environmental Change Institute (LUECI) was established to promote interdisciplinary teaching and research concerning land use change caused by natural phenomena (e.g. climate) and human activities, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. Spatial analysis of landscapes is accomplished using remote sensing platforms and GIS. Temporal changes in environment are evaluated by study of marine, wetland, and lake sediment cores in UF's Florida Institute of Paleoenvironmetal Research (FLIPER) Lab. |
