Mission | Optimize care and systems of care for patients faced with non-curable diseases by generating new knowledge through interdisciplinary research; use that knowledge to educate health and human services professionals, and influence public policy that supports quality end-of-life care. The Center is a university-community provider partnership research center. Partners include: USF Health; LifePath Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.; The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast; H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute; Hope of Southwest Florida; TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care. The Center sponsors a research conference that provides continuing education in end of life care for nurses, physicians, social workers, psychologists, long-term care administrators, chaplains, and attorneys. Center members participate in other conferences and are invited speakers at community events. |
