The purpose of the Center for Tropical Agriculture is to promote and coordinate activities statewide which increase the University's expertise and involvement in tropical agriculture. Such activities include the promotion of related research and curricula development including the administration of a minor and certificate in tropical agriculture. The Center seeks a broad dissemination of knowledge about tropical agriculture through the sponsoring of conferences and seminars featuring leading authorities on the tropics; publication of books, monographs, and proceedings; and through acquisition of materials for the library.
