The Florida-Costa Rica linkage Institute was created by the Florida legislature in 1986 as an element of the Florida International Linkage Institutes: Florida's outreach to those countries and regions of the world considered to offer particularly relevant co-partnership potential. The goals of the Florida-Costa Rica Linkage Institute (FLORICA) are to assist in the development, promotion and support of commercial, cultural and academic linkages between the two countries.
