Florida's linkage institutes have the general mission of enhancing economic and cultural relations between the State and the "target" country or region, while recruiting students from this country or region to attend SUS institutions by the provision of non-resident tuition waivers. FLAWI has the more specific mission of establishing relationships with West Africa institutions of higher education, so as to facilitate activities such as joint research, and faculty/student exchanges, while exploring Florida/West African business.
