Mission: The Center for World Arts (CWA) at the University of Florida is dedicated to advancing diversity and excellence in arts praxis, policy, and education. Recognizing the diverse and interconnected nature of the contemporary world, the CWA supports creative interpretive research, teaching, and outreach involving multiple cultural and artistic processes. The CWA values such processes, both mainstream and unconventional, as critical ways of understanding, shaping, and interpreting the world. As it tests new paradigms of curriculum, scholarship, and cultural engagement, the CWA stimulates diverse modes of learning and experience in the arts, stretching traditional boundaries. Through its practices, the CWA seeks to enhance the role of the arts in the education of the global citizen.
