Mission:	The Center for Retailing Education and Research was established in 1986 with the following ofjectives: (1) stimulate student interest in pursuing careers in retailing, (2) prepare students for entry level management positions, (3) provide continuing education opportunities for individuals currently in retailing, (4) improve communications between retailing practitioners and academics so that academics are more familiar with problems facing retailers and retailers can take advantage of new perspectives arising in the academic community, and (5) undertake research on retailing issues and problems.
