The Institute for Research in Art / Graphicstudio, Contemporary Art Museum and Public Art, works under a mandate to carry on a program of basic research, producing visual art exhibitions, works and techniques that will contribute in a significant way to the creation of new knowledge. The mission of the Institute for Research in Art is integral to its place in a university setting, by providing education, service and research relative to the exhibition, creation and publishing of visual arts. The programming involves all its entities as well as the School of Art and Art History, making best possible use of artist residencies, available resources and facilities, directly benefiting students and serving to engage the community in USF’s art programs.
