Mission: The mission of the Institute on Black life is to serve as a resource center on matters related to people of African descent and their interaction with the larger world community. In pursuit of this mission the Institute conducts & promotes interdisciplinary research, univ/community based programs, faculty & student development, & related social & economic initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all peoples. The three broad foci of the IBl include: a). Sustainable Communities; b). the Education of Children and Youth and c). Culture, History and Community. IBL houses the Center for Africa and the African Diaspora.
