"The mission of the Center for Membrane Physics is to provide financial and institutional support to promote the study of the membrane and interfacial phenomena, which are important to natural and industrial processes, and to develop new scientific and industrial uses of these processes. The principal methods of doing this is to develop new apparatus, methods and theories for studying the photo-electric effects which result from photo-induced charge displacements in membranes and interfaces.
