Founded in 1988, the USF Center for HIV Education and Research assists physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, dentists, pharmacists and other health and mental health care providers to gain the up-to-date information they need to care for patients infected with HIV. The Center conducts research and has provided specialized HIV/AIDS training to more than 300,000 health and mental health professionals across Florida, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Grant funded projects include the Florida/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center and the Perinatal Transmission Prevention Program. An annual HIV Conference is also provided.
