Mission: This Center serves as a local, national and international resource for tertiary consultation and therapy of complex swallowing and esophageal disorders. We have cared for patients from 41 states, 61 counties in the State of Florida, and 8 foreign countries. We serve as an education resource for medical students, medical residents and practicing physicians. Patients referred to the Center are initially evaluated and when indicated, are triaged to affiliated consultants in radiology, otolaryngology and neurology to provide optimum multidisciplinary care. The Center now offers consultation for swallowing and voice rehabilitation services by a certified speech pathologist-swallowing therapist. The Center faculty physicians present local, regional and national lectures and provide special rotations for medical students and other trainees at all levels.
