The Center for the Study of Democratic Performance will promote research on how democratic institutions and processes affect voting, representation and policy making, to assess the extent to which the practice of democracy conforms to democratic ideals. To accomplish this end, the Center will provide research support for Center faculty and graduate students, provide research assistantships to exceptional undergraduate students, establish a working paper series, sponsor lectures and conferences, and maintain a web site.
