Mission: The FSU Autism Institute is established to coordinate and promote research, education, and service related to autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The Autism Institute will advance knowledge of autism through interdisciplinary collaborations and bridge the gap between research and practice through the use of information technology. Specific Aims are: 1) to promote interdisciplinary research that advances scientific knowledge of ASD; 2) to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and clinical/educational practice; 3) to build the capacity of primary care and other service providers, educators, employers, family members, and individuals with ASD to improve outcomes through research and training; and 4) to maximize the use of innovative video and computer information technology in research, education, and service related to ASD.
