The mission of FIU-EEI is to achieve research synergy across the social and behavioral sciences, physical sciences, computer science, public health, management, and engineering in the study of extreme events and responses to them. The goal is to create multidisciplinary teams with the composition of the teams determined by the hazard(s), the associated risks, and the required combinations of expertise to effectively address the challenges or opportunities.
