Mission | The Institute's mission is to improve the quality of the tourism product and increase the benefits of the tourism industry to the State of Florida, and the local Central Florida community. From its inception, the Institute adopted three major objectives: Research, Public Awareness, and Education |
The University of Central Florida invention is a digital framework that enables a personalized decision support system for travelers. The technology also allows suppliers of travel accommodation and experience to participate proactively and reach out to niche traveler profiles based on data that other systems do not use. For example, this includes interests, health conditions, family circumstances, cultural considerations, and experiences that travelers or traveler groups seek.
Called TravelMoov, the UCF invention allows for macro-level (destination selection) and micro-level (accommodation) and experiences/preferences selections. The system can address time, mitigate risk, and enhance safety and travel experience. It comprises an intuitive user interface (UI) that presents a score computed by a multifactorial AI-based decision support algorithm. TravelMoov also draws data sets from curated public and private data sources in real-time and factors in individualized preferences to choose the best-suited travel destinations, given a user profile.
Travelers must make complex decisions based on constantly changing situations, including but not limited to health conditions, local and regional changes, transportation options, cost, duration, group dynamics, climate, and many other factors. While existing technologies typically aggregate and present travel, stay, and activity options, they are not truly personalized decision support systems like TravelMoov.
