NASA’s mission to asteroids and dwarf planets This presentation will discuss NASA’s ongoing and future plans to study asteroids and dwarf planets (Pluto). As some of these objects are believed to be barely altered from their state in the young solar nebula which formed the planets, they may provide insight into planet Earth and the formation and evolution of the solar system. The talk will focus on the DAWN mission to two of the small bodies in our solar system, namely Ceres and Vesta. In addition, the presentation will provide some information on a future mission (OSIRIS-Rex) to a primitive, near Earth asteroid designated 1999 RQ36. Finally the presentation will give an insight on the ongoing mission to Pluto called New Horizon, which is scheduled to reach Pluto in 2015

This presentation will give an overview of astronomy done from space from the first balloon flight in 1957, creation of NASA in 1958 to the present fleet of satellites launched by NASA, European Space Agency, JAXA ans ISRO.

This presentation will give an overview of NASA's Science Mission Directorate and talk about the various missions focusing on the Earh, Heliophysics, Planets, and Astrophysics. This will include missions like CloudSAT, spacecrafts to Mars and Pluto, satellites observing the Sun and various other satellites that are trying to answer questions like "What are the origin, evolution and fate of the Universe?", "How do planets, stars, galaxies and cosmic structure come into being?", "When and how did the elements of life in the Universe arise?","Is there life elsewhere?".

In 1905, Einstein’s ideas about the universe were considered improbable and unbelievable. Over the last century, new technology has provided new evidence for the Big Bang, black holes, and even Dark Energy. This presentation describes some of the revolutionary spacecraft that are helping NASA explore the limits of space and time, and offers scientists an opportunity to put their own research into a technological context.
