Maria Ilcheva is a Research Professor at the FIU Jorge M. Pérez Metropolitan Center, where she leads and contributes to applied research and technical assistance projects for local governments, nonprofits, and community?based organizations across South Florida. Her work centers on survey research, population and demographic studies, community engagement initiatives, and economic and business analytics, supporting evidence?based planning and decision?making. She has worked on projects including community needs assessments, workforce and organizational studies, program evaluation, strategic planning support, and data analysis for public?sector and philanthropic partners. Through collaborative, stakeholder?driven research, she helps organizations translate data into actionable insights that strengthen programs, policies, and outcomes.
