Research Terms
Dr. Rosenheim is a geological oceanographer at the College of Marine Science of the University of South Florida. His research spans from local Florida mangrove ecosystems to lakes buried under nearly a mile of ice in Antarctica. Dr. Rosenheim uses sediment cores and some marine skeletons to reconstruct past climate so that we, as a society, can better understand the impacts of our current man-made climate change. Dr. Rosenheim came into this field as a climate skeptic, and has generated many climate records. None of his climate records have refuted the theory of anthropogenic climate change. A documentary, The Lake at the Bottom of the World, was filmed based partly on Dr. Rosenheim's research in Antarctica.
