I am an investigator in health policy evaluation. I study policy and regulations that affect vulnerable populations facing health disparities, including pregnant women and substance users (e.g., cannabis, opioids), or have been diagnosed with substance use disorders. My research aims to understand the effects of policies in populations that are predisposed to suboptimal outcomes and that have historically been disproportionally affected by broad-scope regulations regarding mental health and substance use treatment access. I am the Assistant Director of Evidence for the Florida state-funded Consortium for Medical Marijuana Clinical Outcomes Research and am a fellow of the Center for Public Health Law Research.
