Biography
Benjamin J Smith is the Program Director and Associate Dean at the Florida State University College of Medicine School of Physician Assistant Practice. Ben worked clinically as a rheumatology physician assistant for over 24 years in a private practice setting. He has held numerous volunteer and leadership roles in local, state, and national professional societies and community organizations. Ben has engaged in scholarly work on the topics of clinical rheumatology, practice guidelines, medical education and geriatrics. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Georgia in 1997, a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical College of Georgia in 1999, a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies with a focus on education from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in May 2018, and a Doctor of Medical Science degree from the University of Lynchburg in August 2019.
