Biography

Hongwu Wang, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Florida and Director of the Technology for Occupational Performance (TOP) Lab. With a background in biomedical engineering and rehabilitation science, his research focuses on innovative assistive and rehabilitative technologies to support healthy aging and independence for older adults and people with disabilities. His TOP Lab, uniquely housed in a single-family home within a retirement community, serves as a living testbed for developing wearable devices, AI-driven tools, and robotics that enhance mobility, reduce pain, and improve quality of life in aging populations and people with disabilities.
