Abstract
The University of Central Florida invention describes performance improvement methods for high-power laser systems. The techniques include:
- Fast modal decomposition, which allows the quantification of optical modes present in optical beams at high speeds and in real-time without optical references
- Time-dependent excitation of selected modes to suppress transverse mode instability (TMI) without relying on feedback
