Abstract
The University of Central Florida invention is a downloadable manual for interim nurse managers. Currently, nurses have little documentation on how to transition to an interim nurse manager role. As an added issue, there is much turmoil in the nursing profession, as staff is consistently changing. In a recent study, researchers found that more than 50 percent of nursing leaders anticipate leaving their roles within five years. As a solution, the UCF manual provides the necessary resources to help nurses with the transition and to guide their professional development. The interim nurse manager role is seen as an avenue for succession planning for nurse leaders.
