The Art of Negotiation for Women Faculty

Description: Women who “work smart” are able to position themselves favorably for important workplace negotiations concerning salary, goals, responsibilities, administrative roles, and so on. Yet many women have limited knowledge of how or when to negotiate and give little conscious thought to maximizing their accomplishments in preparation for the negotiation. Three ways to enhance one’s future negotiation position will be addressed: (1) Why women need to negotiate; (2) What homework to do to prepare; and (3) How to conduct a negotiation.
