Expert Profile
I have served as a higher education administrator and educator for more than fifteen years. I am currently the Associate Director of the Honors Program at the University of Florida. In that role I have been instrumental in designing and coordinating opportunities for first-year honors students, leading program assessment, stimulating fundraising and alumni development, and managing technology and communication strategies for the program. I also advise students on a variety of academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular issues and teach several leadership and professional development courses per year.

My specific research interests lie at the intersection of honors education, technology, and first year experience. I have published numerous articles and frequently present nationally on these topics. As I progressed through my dissertation journey, I also became interested in best practices in the mentoring and support of doctoral students. I am a fierce advocate for professional development, particularly in the realms of association leadership and the production, not just the consumption, of scholarly resources. I especially enjoy mentoring new professionals as they search for outlets for engagement within and outside of their field.
