Bis-enoxacin: Development of a new drug for osteoporosis and bone cancer
Audience: Adults
Description: Development of new therapeutic agents has until recently relied on luck, or brute force (testing hundreds of thousands of molecules to find one that works). Now supercomputer-based computational chemistry has reached sufficent levels of sophistication to allow rational drug design and development.

In this presentation, I will decribe studies in my laboratory, which led to the identification of a new and better anti-resorptive for the treatment of osteoporosis and bone cancer. This is an example of what can be done in the area of rational drug design.
