A Multi-Tiered Decision-Making Framework for Emotional and Behavioral Health | |
Audience: | Adults |
Description: | This workshop will describe a Solution-focused Emotional and Behavior Assessment (SEBA) model including (1) universal screening to establish base rates of behavioral risk, (2) problem identification to specify function and skill deficits, (3) understanding the decisional process to inform Tier I to Tier 2 intervention, and (4) model implementation processes, including teacher training. A case example will be presented of a three-year implementation in a large, urban district that incorporated universal screening procedures to inform intervention selection. Participants will learn how to select and implement screening measures, identify strategies for linking assessment results to evidence based interventions, as well as advanced considerations in screening implementation. Attendees should have a basic understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and may be actively in the planning, implementing, or evaluating stage with Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS). This presentation can be adapted as half and full-day workshops. |
