In this video, Kenneth Hanson discusses his research at FSU in molecular photophysics. The group is researching the chemical events that occur after exciting a molecule with a particle of light.

The group studies light-matter interactions with an emphasis on the design, synthesis, and characterization of light absorbing and emitting molecules. They use electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques to understand the molecules’ structure-property relationships and how those relationships dictate their performance and application.
