Daniel Britt of UCF will analyze data from NASA spacecraft Lucy’s trip to the Trojan asteroids near Jupiter. It’s the first trip to that part of the solar system. Britt will help determine what the asteroids are made of and understand why they are composed that way.
“This mission is another way to learn about our solar neighborhood,” Britt says. “Discovery is a whole lot of fun and the funny thing is that we know a bit about the laws of nature, but we don’t really know which rules apply more given any particular situation.”
