UM Study Looks at Durability of COVID-19 Immunity

Michael Hoffer is recruiting participants for a study looking at those who have had COVID-19 or the vaccine to examine the durability of their antibody and T-cell responses. The study will add to the body of data needed to answer questions about immunity to the virus.

“Immunity to the virus after being infected or having the vaccine is not well understood,” Hoffer said. “For example, for those who have the vaccine, are we going to have to vaccinate people annually? Every six months? Every 18 months? Once in a lifetime? We don’t know.” This NIH-funded study will try to answer these questions.
