FAMU-FSU Researcher Studies Novel Materials Development

Subramanian Ramakrishnan, a researcher at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, and his team have received $659,000 from the Department of Defense to support novel discoveries in materials research. This will result in the development of lighter and stronger materials.

Newer materials, such as resin, show promise for use in military planes, but additional research is needed. “We are asking the question of why and how things happen,” Ramakrishnan said. “We want to know how to develop novel materials and help to advance design rules for processing them.”
