Water School Researcher Studies Algae Toxins

With a goal of tackling water issues to help prevent future problems, researcher Barry Rosen of The Water School at FGCU studies harmful algae toxins across the country in order to keep communities safe.

After a dog died while swimming in Zion National Park, Rosen was called on for his water expertise. Rosen is fulfilling The Water School’s mission by applying lessons learned in Florida to cases around the world. “I do extremely applied work,” said Rosen. “I personally love the beauty of the organism.”
