USF’s Victoria Marshall is developing a digital platform to help older patients understand their oral cancer medications and track their symptoms and drug efficiency. Features will include personalized medication calendars and reminders, symptom management toolkits, and easy-to-read education materials about side effects, interactions, and proper use.
The product will support 28 commonly prescribed oral anti-cancer medications. It will also integrate information about food and drug interactions. "Allowing them to have a resource that's online and usable on multiple devices can help them manage their oral anti-cancer medication, symptoms, and side effects at home," says Marshall.
