Study Aims to Transform HIV Prevention Approaches

Adam Carrico of UM has received $3.9 million over two years from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to transform HIV prevention in sexual minority men, while addressing the resurging methamphetamine epidemic. Carrico aims to build a telehealth platform for HIV intervention in populations that use meth.

“We are thrilled to have received a LITE-2 award from NIAID,” said Carrico. “We hope the LITE-2 initiative will guide geographically targeted, bio-behavioral public health approaches to address meth use as a resurgent driver of the HIV epidemic in SMM.”
